    ***************Obstacle Practise*****************

    Come join us for practice time on the obstacles. Sessions will run for 2 hours and 12 riders per session. Cost is $35. Space is limited and registration is confirmed when payment has been made. 

    PlayDays are a relaxed environment where you can expose your horse to obstacles or refine those obstacles for the races! There are always many friendly faces to help out at playdays so be sure to come and practice obstacles with Extreme Cowboy Alberta! 

    Due to COVID, our Playdays will be run differently this year. Please read the following information so that you are informed of the changes that are occurring:
    • Events will all be held outdoors in the Cochrane Ag Outdoor Arena (Sand Outdoor Arena). Events will be held Rain or Shine!
    • No Food Truck; please bring your own food and drink with you.
    • No Spectators are allowed at our races this year.
    • Each rider is only allowed one person to accompany them and their name and phone number must be added as your guest when registering.
    • COVID Protocols will be in place. Everyone is required to bring a facemask or bandana that is suitable to cover nose and mouth and their own hand sanitizer/soap and water. If these things are not brought with you, entry into the Ag grounds will be denied. 
    • You must also complete, sign and send back (screen shot or scan) the COVID Questionnaire found under "Members Area- Forms"
    • Also required are completed (1)ECA Liability Release, (2) Cochrane Ag Liability Release, and (3) Photo/Video Release Forms found under "Members Area- Forms" and screen shot or scanned back to ECA.

    Please Note that as of this year all riders planning to race at ECA events that are sanctioned by EXCA must have an EXCA membership (Cost is $45 USD). Since all riders will be required to be EXCA members this year there will be no extra cost to submit points for EXCA tracking, however race fees are being increased by $7.50 per division to account for added EXCA administrative fees this year. EXCA memberships can be purchased at https://extremecowboyassociation.com/.

    We present our EXCA SANCTIONED RACE

    Divisions are as follows, and will be run in the following order on race day:
      
    Young Guns

    Any rider between the ages of 7-11 is eligible to compete in the Young Guns Division. Young Guns riders are allowed to ride “up” into the Youth Division with parental permission

    Novice -18 and Older - 

    The Novice Division is designed for base level riders who have developed only the basic riding skills, such as loping, backing and side passing, etc. and have had little or no success competing in other equestrian events. The Novice Division is considered an entry level division that will allow the rider to develop confidence and additional horsemanship skills to allow the rider to move into the Intermediate Division. The purpose of the Novice Division is to provide a division that is fair to all base level riders.  Novice riders are allowed to ride "up" into higher Divisions of competition.   

    Green Horse

    A Division to develop aged horses new to EXCA & Futurity Horses,open to horses of any age, and may be ridden by any competitor age 12 or older. A Green Horse may not be ridden in any other division.

    Youth - minimum age 12-maximum age 17

    Intermediate

    An Intermediate rider is an individual who is ready to move out of the Novice division but is not yet ready to compete in the Non-Pro division and does not receive compensation for riding or training horses, ponies or mules. An Intermediate rider has increased horsemanship skills such as increased speed and confidence in their basic skills and are prepared for the challenges of this higher level.  A rider in this division has had some competition experience in equestrian sports and/or Extreme Cowboy Racing.

    Non-Pro

    A Non-Pro rider is an individual that has experience as a rider but does not receive compensation for riding or training horses, ponies or mules.  This definition applies to all riders age 18 and over, except a Youth rider with parental permission. 

    Ride Smart 

    Is designed for non-professional riders age 55 and over.

    Pro

    An individual is considered a professional rider if he/she is age 18 or over and receives compensation for riding or training horses, ponies or mules.

        
    Riders can enter in more than one division, and ride more than one horse.

    Prices per ride, based on division, are as follows:

    • Green Horse - $67.50
    • Young Guns/Youth - $47.50
    • Novice/Intermediate/Ride Smart/Non-Pro/Pro - $67.50

    Ride Smart 

    Is designed for non-professional riders age 55 and over.

    Pro

    An individual is considered a professional rider if he/she is age 18 or over and receives compensation for riding or training horses, ponies or mules.

        
    Riders can enter in more than one division, and ride more than one horse.

    Prices per ride, based on division, are as follows:

    • Green Horse - $67.50
    • Young Guns/Youth - $47.50
    • Novice/Intermediate/Ride Smart/Non-Pro/Pro - $67.50

    2020 RACE SERIES EXCA Single POINTS! 

    Please Note that as of this year all riders planning to race at ECA events that are sanctioned by EXCA must have an EXCA membership (Cost is $45 USD). Since all riders will be required to be EXCA members this year there will be no extra cost to submit points for EXCA tracking, however race fees are being increased by $7.50 per division to account for added EXCA administrative fees this year. EXCA memberships can be purchased at https://extremecowboyassociation.com/. 

    Due to COVID our Races will be run slightly different this year. Please read the following information so you are informed of the changes that are occurring:

    • Events will be held outdoors in the Cochrane Ag Rodeo Arena (sandy footing). Events will be held Rain or Shine!
    • Entry to grounds for all participants will only be allowed between the times of 7:00 am and 9:00 am.
    • There will be assigned parking areas based on Race Divisions and Overnight Stays.
    • No Spectators are allowed at our races at this time.
    • Each rider is only allowed one person to accompany them on the day of racing.
    • COVID Protocols will be in place. Everyone is required to bring a facemask or bandana that is suitable to cover nose and mouth and their own hand sanitizer/soap and water. If these things are not brought with you, entry into the Ag grounds will be denied. 
    • RACES WILL START AT 10:00 AM for 2020
    • No Food Truck; please bring your own food and drinks.

    We present our EXCA SANCTIONED RACE

    Divisions are as follows, and will be run in the following order on race day:
      
    Young Guns

    Any rider between the ages of 7-11 is eligible to compete in the Young Guns Division. Young Guns riders are allowed to ride “up” into the Youth Division with parental permission

    Novice -18 and Older - 

    The Novice Division is designed for base level riders who have developed only the basic riding skills, such as loping, backing and side passing, etc. and have had little or no success competing in other equestrian events. The Novice Division is considered an entry level division that will allow the rider to develop confidence and additional horsemanship skills to allow the rider to move into the Intermediate Division. The purpose of the Novice Division is to provide a division that is fair to all base level riders.  Novice riders are allowed to ride "up" into higher Divisions of competition.   

    Green Horse

    A Division to develop aged horses new to EXCA & Futurity Horses,open to horses of any age, and may be ridden by any competitor age 12 or older. A Green Horse may not be ridden in any other division.

    Youth - minimum age 12-maximum age 17

    Intermediate

    An Intermediate rider is an individual who is ready to move out of the Novice division but is not yet ready to compete in the Non-Pro division and does not receive compensation for riding or training horses, ponies or mules. An Intermediate rider has increased horsemanship skills such as increased speed and confidence in their basic skills and are prepared for the challenges of this higher level.  A rider in this division has had some competition experience in equestrian sports and/or Extreme Cowboy Racing.

    Non-Pro

    A Non-Pro rider is an individual that has experience as a rider but does not receive compensation for riding or training horses, ponies or mules.  This definition applies to all riders age 18 and over, except a Youth rider with parental permission.

    ***************Obstacle Practise*****************

    Come join us for practice time on the obstacles. Sessions will run for 2 hours and 12 riders per session. Cost is $35. Space is limited and registration is confirmed when payment has been made. 

    PlayDays are a relaxed environment where you can expose your horse to obstacles or refine those obstacles for the races! There are always many friendly faces to help out at playdays so be sure to come and practice obstacles with Extreme Cowboy Alberta! 

    Due to COVID are Races & Playdays will be run Different this Year (Please read the following information so you are informed of the changes that are occurring)
    • No Spectators are allowed at our races this year
    • Each rider is only allowed one person to accompany them on the day of racing
    • There will be set arrival times to accommodate COVID-19 Protocols.
    • COVID Protocols will be in place. Everyone is required to bring a facemask or bandana that is suitable to cover nose and mouth and their own hand sanitizer/soap and water. If these things are not brought with you, entry into the Ag grounds will be denied. 
    • No Food Truck; please bring your own food and drink with you.
